D-2Nal means D-2-naphthylalanine; D-Ala and D-Phe indicate D-amino acids. Values refer to the free amidated peptide. PubChem marks 908593-10-2 as a deprecated CAS. No separate UniProt identity was verified; the residue sequence represents the structure without atom coordinates or SMILES. Blend components do not apply.

Research overview
GHRP-2 is the synthetic hexapeptide also indexed as pralmorelin. Its sequence is D-Ala-D-2Nal-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2: three positions contain D-amino acids, including the nonstandard aromatic residue D-2-naphthylalanine, and the C terminus is amidated. The compound has been compared with the structurally distinct GHRP-6 in pituitary-cell experiments, which examine receptor-linked secretion rather than the properties of the full-length hypothalamic peptide GHRH [1].
In primary rat pituitary cells, investigators compared GHRP-2 with GHRP-6 and used antagonist and desensitisation experiments to examine whether their signals shared a receptor system. The cells showed reciprocal desensitisation to the two peptides, while the response to GRF remained distinguishable. A peptide antagonist inhibited the GHRP-2 response, whereas a GRF antagonist did not. Those observations supported a common pathway for the two short peptides in that rat-cell preparation [1].
A second study used cultured human pituitary somatotropinoma cells with or without activating gsp oncogenes. It measured phosphatidylinositol hydrolysis and cAMP and examined protein kinase C and calmodulin contributions. The authors observed that cAMP responses depended on the cellular signalling background and discussed communication between phosphoinositide and adenylyl cyclase systems. This cell-culture work concerns defined tissue and genotype contexts, so a signalling observation should remain attached to the experimental system in which it was measured [2].
Laboratory storage and handling
Store sealed peptide vials under the temperature conditions stated in the lot documentation, protected from light and moisture. Let a cold vial reach room temperature before opening to limit condensation. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing of laboratory stocks, record storage history and the lot identifier, and use standard laboratory protective equipment. Chemical modifications and counterions should be checked against the supplied analytical description.
Questions about GHRP-2
What does D-2Nal specify in GHRP-2?
D-2Nal specifies D-2-naphthylalanine at the second residue. This is a nonstandard aromatic amino acid, distinct from the tryptophan present at the corresponding position of GHRP-6.
Does GHRP-2 have the same sequence as GHRH?
GHRP-2 is a six-residue peptide with several D-amino acids. The cited rat-cell comparison distinguishes its antagonist and desensitisation responses from those of GRF [1].
Why did the cell study consider gsp status?
The investigators compared cells with and without activating gsp oncogenes to examine how the adenylyl cyclase background related to cAMP and phosphoinositide signalling responses [2].
